Publish Journals

The Universitätsverlag Potsdam publishes scholarly open access journals. We support editors to both launch new open access journals and transition existing journals to open access and provide guidance throughout the entire publication process.

For more than ten years, Open Journal Systems (OJS) has been used to provide user-friendly support for editorial workflows—from submission and peer review to publication. The Universitätsverlag offers guidance in designing and developing these workflows within OJS.

After editors have concluded the peer review process, our staff copyedit articles and prepares them in various, accessible publication formats, tailored to the design of each journal. Publications are produced either by external service providers or internally with an XML-based, cross-media single-source production system that generates multiple accessible formats. In-house production also enables free publication in diamond open access at the University of Potsdam. In addition to online publication, the Universitätsverlag can also issue a print edition.

All published articles receive persistent identifiers (DOI), and their global visibility is increased through indexing in various locations such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Legal deposit with the German National Library (DNB) ensures long-term preservation.
