Costs

The publication process incurs costs for the media-neutral production of the open access edition (layout, typesetting, creation of accessible output formats, etc.).
In the case of an additional print edition, costs are incurred for printing and distribution. Printing costs depend on the size of the initial print run, the total number of pages, the number of color pages, and the paper quality.

The printing costs consist of the costs for the initial print run and a publishing fee of 30 euros. The size of the initial print run is calculated based on the total number of 30 publisher's copies (including mandatory copies) and the desired number of author's copies. The publisher uses the proceeds from sales to finance reprints in order to ensure long-term availability in bookstores.

Financing

The costs for the open access edition are covered by the university library.

The costs for the print edition are covered by the authors or editors themselves.

Funding

Grants for printing costs can be applied for under certain conditions from the DFG, PoGS (Potsdam Graduate School), or foundations. At the University of Potsdam, the Research Department offers support.
