Professional Support for Scholar-led Publishing

The Universitätsverlag Potsdam is the University of Potsdam’s institutional, non-commercial open access publisher. We support University of Potsdam scholars publishing their research results, providing them with a wide range of publication formats and services. The Universitätsverlag’s offerings include the publication of monographs, edited volumes and conference proceedings as well as journals in traditional and innovative digital formats from the entire range of subjects at the University of Potsdam. The Universitätsverlag offers services in the areas of editing, proofreading, production and distribution.

We aim to highlight and sustainably disseminate the full range of research conducted at University of Potsdam. As a diamond open access publisher, we offer our researchers cost-efficient publishing options while simultaneously adhering to transparent publication processes that meet the highest standards of quality and follow open science principles.

In the long term, we aim to contribute to the modernization of scholarly publishing by moving it away from the traditional evaluation system – based on quantitative indicators and publisher reputation – and toward transparent quality assurance. The Universitätsverlag works closely with the scholarly community to further develop and refine these quality standards. As part of this effort, we continue to expand our collaboration with institutional and other publishers. In so doing, we respond to scholarly organizations and funding agencies that call for free, scholar-centered publication infrastructure to be made available to researchers and educators.

Through diamond open access publishing with the Universitätsverlag Potsdam, research reaches a wide audience and contributes to scholarly discourse. In this way, the Universitätsverlag actively contributes to the further development of digital scholarly communication.
