The fee for one year is 25 euros, or 5 euros for one month. There is a reduced fee for school pupils, the severely disabled, the unemployed, and welfare recipients. The reduced fee also applies to students from other federal states in Germany who have their primary residence in the state of Brandenburg.

The holdings of the University Library are open to interested school pupils who have reached their 14th birthday. If you are not yet 14 years old, you can visit the library if accompanied by an adult.
Registration for borrowing privileges is possible as of your 14th birthday.
Young people under 16 years of age can only register in the presence of their legal guardian.
School pupils under 18 years of age must also present a Declaration of Consent signed by their legal guardian that also contains a declaration to assume any obligations that may arise.
The fee is reduced and amounts to either 2 euro for a month or 10 euro for a year.

Please present documentation when you come to register, as well as an Application for Permission to Borrow Materials and Use the Library for Agencies, Institutions, Clubs and Companies which also contains a declaration to assume any obligations that may arise. In addition, you must also identify yourself and acknowledge personally the Terms of Use and the Fee Schedule. Furthermore, a maximum of three additional people can be authorized to pick up materials. The application must bear the stamp and signature of a legal representative of the organization.

These privileges are valid for a maximum of one year. To extend these privileges, a completed and signed application must be submitted again. The application for extension can be submitted at the earliest three months before the expiration of library privileges.

When the media are handed over to the person picking them up, the liability for damages arising due to the damage or loss of media, or the misuse of a library card, rests with the holder of the library account according to the Terms of Use for the University Library of Potsdam.
