In 2007, the Berlin-Brandenburg Judaica Union Catalogue was made accessible to the public by the Judaica Network, together with the KOBV. Members of the Network list their holdings in the Union Catalogue.
The conversion of the old KOBV portal to a new technology opened up new opportunities for presenting Network member libraries. Today, their holdings are an integral component of the KOBV portal and can be selected via the “Virtual Catalogue.” Judaica holdings are presented in the overall context of the portal.
A new Judaica portal is currently being developed in parallel with the representation of the holdings in the KOBV portal. The KOBV’s Albert Discovery System is being used for this. This enables not just the presentation of library holdings in the region, as has been the case up to now, but also a diverse array of other sources.
The most important, and only, specialized database for Judaica, is being integrated into the catalog: the Israeli National Library’s RAMBI. Various sources are being incorporated to simplify research in online resources, beginning with the digitized Judaica holdings of the Frankfurt am Main University Library. Additional online sources and journals are being added gradually.
